I am grateful for the life I own,
And to the family I could call my own
I am grateful for the colours I see,
For there were many who could hardly see
I am grateful for the bird songs I hear
For there were those who could hardly hear
I am grateful for my dancing feet
For there are those who cannot perform this feat
I am grateful that I can talk to someone I know
For there are those who are muted, you would know
I am grateful for my caring parents who nurtured me all grown
For there are those who were left to fend alone
I am grateful to my kindly friends who walk alongside me
For there are those who rather be left alone
I am grateful for the health I own
For there are those who have spoilt it on their own
I am grateful for the job I do
For there are those who do not have a job to do
I am grateful for the food I have
For there are those who hardly have
I am grateful for the roof over my head
For there are those who do not have that over their head
I am grateful for the clothes I wear
For there are those who hardly find to wear
So be grateful for how blessed you are
For there are those who are less than you are
Whenever you are grieving and sad
Be grateful to recall all the joys you had!
