Becky, is a former tenured Assistant Professor of English, a storyteller and published author, and a literary researcher. She has a particular passion for hero’s journey stories of all kinds, where the main character sets off on a journey of transformation and emerges as someone stronger, wiser, and more resilient.
As a college English instructor, Becky focused on using literature to teach critical thinking skills. These and her other works of literature provide infection points for discussing, questioning, and writing about the many assumptions which informed students’ beliefs and values. These days, Davidson is developing and recording her own Hero’s Journey stories and using them as a lever for encouraging listeners to reckon with their own self-stories. She also has partnered with researchers at Claremont Graduate School in Southern California to assess whether users of her platform feel a stronger sense of self-efficacy.
